Japanese Courses

At Pro Language, in keeping with our teaching philosophy, we have designed a Japanese course that meet the needs of those motivated who wish to learn quickly and accurately in a fun, energetic classroom environment. That is why we provide students with highly experienced, compassionate, native-speaking teachers who have a talent for helping people get over their hurdles. Our Japanese teachers are also fluent in English, Thai, or both to add to the comfort level of the students.

Besides providing an excellent teacher, we have a tested curriculum, which has been proven effective. It includes not just Japanese vocabulary and grammar, but many real-life simulations and interesting cultural topics, as well as insights into the Japanese business mind. Below you will find a summary of this curriculum, highlighting a small portion of what you will see and learn.

Beginning Level I :

  • Exchanging greeting and making introductions
  • Asking and answering simple questions
  • Telling time and date; days of the week and month
  • Giving and understanding directions
  • Responding orally to classroom expressions
  • Understanding basic grammar and basic structure of sentences
  • 300 – 400 basic vocabulary words regularly used

Intermediate Level I :

Skill-based student objectives

  • More conversation for real-life situations; such as:
    • booking a hotel
    • going to the doctor
    • Job interviews
    • Applying for membership in a healthclub
  • Business conversations:
    • Conducting a telephone conversation
    • Making appointments -ordering products and services
    • Making a simple presentation, etc….
  • Increasing idioms and polite expressions
  • Introduction to Hiragana-Katakana (46 characters)
  • 400 – 500 more new vocabulary words

Intermediate Level II

Skill-based student objectives

  • Converse using common idioms and phrasal verbs
  • Learning more business conversations
    • participating in a meeting
    • describing future plans
    • negotiating business plans, etc…
  • Writing simple sentences describing objects, people, and events
  • At least 80 basic Kanji
  • 500 more new vocabulary words

Advanced Level I

Skill-based student objectives

Longer and more in-depth conversations

  • Demonstrating basic knowledge of Japanese culture
    • Geography of Japanese
    • Major cities
    • Festivals of Japan
    • Foods, housing and cloth
    • History
  • Writing about daily routines
  • At least 150 basic Kanji
  • 600 more new vocabulary words

Advanced Level II

Skill-based student objectives

  • Flowing, natural conversation
  • Demonstrating basic knowledge of Japanese business customs
  • Free-flow discussions
  • Writing personal profiles and formal reports
  • At least 250 more basic Kanji
  • 600 more new vocabulary words
