Grundstufe 1( Elementary I )
This course is designed for beginner level students who know little or nothing of the German language. Starting with the first lesson you will be introduced to its language systems and learn skills that are useful in daily life situations. At the same time, you will be exposed to interesting information about the German speaking countries’ culture and lifestyle. Some of the skills covered in this course include:
- Introductions and greetings
- Phone calls
- Naming and describing things
- Describing table manners, ordering and paying in restaurants, and buying food
- Making appointments
- Describing apartments, and commenting on their amenities
- Writing postcards
- Talking about health
- Describing events
- Asking for and giving directions
- Shopping conversations
- Talking about people and places
Grundstufe 2 ( Elementary II )
This course provides an extension of the skills and structures introduced in Elementary I. The contexts will be expanded to cover many possible encounters and interesting subjects. By the end of this course the student should have a substantial vocabulary and be able to communicate easily in many every-day situations, as well as begin to be able to comprehend and converse on a limited number of deeper topics. Some of the interesting topics are:
- Describing people and appearances, talking about clothes
- Talking about future plans, education and the job
- Completing a job application
- Creating a resume
- Discussing TV, radio programs, music, and books
- Comparing different cars, conversation at the service station
- Talking about the weather, landscapes and environment
- Planning a trip
- Describing the political system and recent history of Germany
Grundstufe 3 ( Elementary III )
Building on the solid foundation of Elementary I and II, the final Elementary level will reinforce previously learned material and delve deeper to increase the students’ flexibility with the German Language. Additional situations and topics will also be visited to help ’round-out’ the students’ knowledge and prepare them for the real world (or the Zertifikat Deutsch Exam). A wide variety of activities will be employed to build the students’ confidence in using German and improve their use of German grammar structures. Among the new topics broached in this level are:
- Discussing architectural features and design
- Talking about hobbies, fitness and other leisure activities.
- Describing people with different personalities
- Communication in the new media
- Talking about holidays, vacations, and travel experiences
Business German Courses
Our Business German course is just what you need if you are doing, or planning to do, business with German companies. It includes everything that the regular German course does and more, because it is focused on a business context. From accounting to socializing, it’s all here!
Just like the regular course it will include many interesting topics and activities to keep your interest and make learning fun.
Also, it works toward the German Business Certificate. If this is one of your goals, you can rest assured that you will get everything you need. Take that test with a confident heart and peace of mind!
Beyond Elementary
If you already have a German Certificate, or are a capable user, don’t feel that we have nothing to offer. We certainly do! Intermediate and Advanced level users of German will receive a course customized to bolster their particular strengths and weaknesses.
